Humane Animal Education

No-kill starts with the youth of the future. LCPA host shelter tours and in school presentations to teach children the importance of animal safety, husbandry, spay/neuter advocacy and more. We also offer a full in-class humane education curriculum created by education professionals. Join our education team and help us keep pets from entering the shelter by providing the tools needed for future pet owners.


  • Ages 18 and older
  • Comfortable working around children of all ages
  • Ability to speak in front of a group
  • Be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with staff, other volunteers and the public


Volunteers must commit to 1 hour per month minimum for at least 6 months.
