How long has the Gripon family been involved in the Music Fest?

Greg: Since before all of us could walk or talk. My parents pushed me around in the stroller when it was known as the League City Village Fair and when Justin and Ashley were born, I did the same. It’s always been a part of our lives. In fact, my nickname is “Mr. Village Fair” because I’ve been a part of the festival for so many years and I’ve kind of become the problem solver and go-to guy over time.

Justin and Ashley: We can’t remember a time when we didn’t volunteer at the festival. As soon as we could walk, we were doing something to help out. When we become old enough, we joined the Lions Club. We are so proud to be third generation League City Lions. In fact, Ashley even has a lion tattoo on her shoulder. Volunteering and giving back to the League City community has always been important to our family. It all started with our grandparents.

Greg: Yes, my dad Lynn started this tradition years ago and we decided it was time to bring it back. We will be serving beer, German food, and will have live entertainment under the tent.

Justin and Ashley: We are all super excited. We’re going to be wearing lederhosen and authentic German Bavarian outfits. The whole Gripon family is coming in from out of town to work the tent and attend the festival.

Ashley: Meeting people at the ticket booth. My mom and I work it every year and we love seeing old friends and meeting new ones.  We actually argue over who gets to sit at the largest window in the booth because we love interacting with folks.

Justin: Kid’s Day on Friday. It’s so rewarding to see how happy the kids get and their smiling faces. That’s what the Music Fest is all about. All proceeds go to the Lions Club to provide programs that give back to the League City community.

Greg: The history of the fair and how it has evolved and grown over the years as the City has evolved and grown.

What are you looking forward to the most this year at the festival?

Greg: The return of Lynn’s Biergarten.

Justin: The new Leos volunteering with us.
