Service for League City
The Community Risk Reduction Office provides a very important customer service for the city. Through fire safety inspections, fire prevention classes / programs, and nuisance abatement inspections, we strive to ensure League City is a safe, clean, healthy place to live, work, and visit.
The Community Risk Reduction Office will serve the community with honesty, integrity and respect.
Procedure for Doing Business
Fire inspections are scheduled, fire investigations are conducted as necessary.
Duties Of The Community Risk Reduction Office
- Assure compliance with fire and building codes
- Conduct fire prevention classes / programs
- Fire and life safety inspections
- Fire safety tips
- Home fire safety inspections
- Investigate fires
- Issue permits
- Enforce City ordinances and state laws
- Plat / plan review
Classes are offered to the public to inform and instruct in the prevention of fires including evacuation plans, general fire safety, fire extinguisher operations, exit drills in the home, stop, drop, and roll, and the importance of a working smoke detector. Fire station tours are arranged through the LCVFD.

Fire & Safety Inspections:
Fire safety inspections are designed to protect life and property by identifying unsafe conditions or practices. As a courtesy to the residents of League City, a free home fire safety inspection will be conducted at the homeowner's/occupant's request.
The Community Risk Reduction Office investigates the origin, cause and circumstances of every fire that occurs within the city limits where property has been destroyed or damaged. Further, the Community Risk Reduction Office investigates whether fires are the result of carelessness, design or arson.
