Residents interested in volunteering are encouraged to apply by filling out the Boards and Commissions Application and Information Statement (PDF). Applications are also available from the City Secretary's Office at City Hall at 300 West Walker. 

Annual Board Appointments - Beginning in August of every year the City initiates a solicitation period for those positions expiring in December. Appointments are confirmed in December.

Animal Shelter Advisory Committee
  • Meets monthly.
  • Long term planning for animal shelter.

Civil Service Commission
  • Meetings scheduled by Civil Service Director as needed.
  • Handles all police officer personnel issues relating to civil service.

  • Recommends/discharges independent auditors, reviews audits, financial statements, etc.

The Historic Commission
  • Meets 3rd Thursday of every month.
  • Oversees historic district preservation and history.

League City Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board
  • Meets monthly.
  • Encourages tourism in the League City community, to raise the public visibility of local activities which may attract visitors to the City, and to promote and enhance tourism in the convention and hotel industry.

Ethics Review Board
  • Meets as needed.
  • Shall have jurisdiction to investigate and make findings and conclusions concerning alleged violations of the Ethics Code, regulations governing lobbying, or the City Charter.

Keep League City Beautiful Committee
  • Meets monthly.
  • Provide recommendations on City projects and initiatives related to public art, placemaking opportunities, art and cultural services, programs and community events, and beautification.

  • Meets monthly
  • Study functions of City Boards and commissions, making recommendations to City Council for retention, modification, or elimination.

  • Meets monthly.
  • Shall make recommendations for updates to Master Transportation Plan; propose financial methods, programs, and projects for implementing Master Transportation Plan.

  • Meets 2nd Thursday of each month.
  • Advise in growth and maintenance of the library.
