EPA for Kids
Hey kids! Water is everywhere-in the sky, in the ground, and in our homes-and we use it every day. Learn how to care for this and other important resources.
Take Care of Texas
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is initiating Take Care of Texas - a statewide campaign designed to involve all Texans in lifestyle and habit changes that will help improve air and water quality, conserve water and energy, reduce waste, and save individuals a little money in the process. This campaign raises awareness of how each of us can make our state a better place to live, work, and play. This site includes a great section for kids.
Texas Water Development Board
The Texas Water Development Board's conservation staff takes pride in providing services that help Texans establish effective water conservation plans and practices.
WaterSense
Launched in 2006, WaterSense is an EPA-sponsored partnership program that seeks to protect the future of our nation's water supply by promoting water efficiency and enhancing the market for water-efficient products, programs, and practices.
WaterSmart Landscaping
A WaterSmart yard utilizes plants and practices that require less water plus little or no fertilizers or pesticides. With minimal grass cover and maximum use of native and adapted plants, the WaterSmart landscape is beautiful and easy to maintain and environmentally friendly. By converting your lawn one section at a time you can create a landscape that helps preserve the Bay Area and gradually reduces your maintenance time.
Water Conservation and STEM
The University of Texas at Austin has created water conservation and STEM resources for educators to enhance K–12 STEM-focused water conservation learning for kids and teens. It also helps educate students on how technology is being used to impact current water conservation efforts.
