Swimming Lessons

Currently we offer swim lessons during the Spring, Summer and Fall. All classes are 30 minutes long.  Registration for our swim lessons can be done online or in person at Hometown Heroes Park. To register online, an account with League City Parks and Recreation is needed. If you have any questions, call 281-554-1180.

  • Parent/Tot: 6 months to 3 years. Instructors will introduce parents and children to water acclimation and exploration through games and songs. There are no pre-requisites for this class.
  • Youth Swim Lessons: 3 to 14 years.* Whether you are wanting to refine your skills or you have never been in a pool before we are here to help you meet your goals. All age and skill levels are welcome, and our instructors will work with you side-by-side to get you where you want to be. Remember swimming takes practice, patience, and determination. We are so excited to have the opportunity to teach you!
  • Adult Lessons: 15 years and older. All skill levels are welcome.

    *In the Spring and Fall our Youth Swim Lessons will start at 6 years old. 

Beginner Swim Lessons

This level focuses on learning basic water skills. Participants will be introduced to water basics such as water acclimation and exploration, breath control, submerging, floating, gliding and the beginning steps for front crawl. Your child must be comfortable int he water without a flotation device. 

Intermediate Swim Lessons

This level focuses on reviewing and refining fundamental aquatic skills. Participants will learn to full submerge underwater, refine their front crawl and be introduced to side to side breathing and backstroke.

Advance Swim Lessons

This level focuses on refining and perfecting stroke development. Participants will refine theri front crawl and backstroke, butterfly, elemntary backstroke, and diving basics. This class is drill orientated with lap swimming to perfect technique. Your swimmer must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke without stopping to participate in this class. 

Spring Youth Swim Lessons 

This Spring we will be offering Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance swim lessons. Lessons will be held at Hometown Heroes Pool.

Dates: Monday and Wednesday

  • April 24 to May 17

Times: 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Ages: 6 to 14
Cost: Residents: $60 | Non-residents: $90
Registration: February 1 | February 15

Spring Adult Swim Lessons

Adult swim lessons are open to all skill levels for participants 15 and older. Lessons will be held at Hometown Heroes Pool.

Dates: Monday and Wednesday

  • April 24 to May 17

Times: 5:30 p.m.
Ages: 15 and older
Cost: Residents: $60 | Non-residents: $90
Registration: February 1 | February 15


Rain Out Policy & Procedure

In the event of inclement weather, your class will be canceled one hour before it’s start time.  All Rain out updates will be posted online at Teamsideline. It will show which classes have been canceled and the makeup day that has been scheduled. Updates will only be posted on the website listed above.

Make-Up Classes

We do not offer make-up classes for sick or other miscellaneous absences from class. The only make-up classes offered are for inclement weather cancellations.

Creating an Account (Household)

Household accounts can now be created online. To create an account, visit: Online Parks and Rec Registration and click on new account and fill in the required fields. Please make sure to add everyone living in your household, including children. After setting up your household account, League City residents must email a copy of their water bill to Parks  to verify residency and have their account approved. Households must be approved before any registration can occur. Accounts can take up to 72 hours to be approved. 

Accounts can also be created in person at Hometown Heroes Park. League City residents will need to bring in a valid ID and their League City water bill. Non-residents will need to bring in a valid ID.
