Six-week class features field trips and in-person instruction
Birdwatching is a fun hobby for all ages and is a great way to connect with nature and build wellbeing and mindfulness into your daily life. Plus, League City and the surrounding area are filled with birding hotspots.
If you are curious about birding but don’t know how to get started, then consider signing up for League City’s new “Birdwatching for Beginners” class. This in-person, six-session course features a mixture of instructional classes and field trips led by Texas Master Naturalist and Birding for Fun founder Kristine Rivers.
Classes are from 9 to 11 a.m. on the following dates:
April 6 – Instructional class April 20 – Field trip April 27 – Instructional class May 4 – Field trip May 11 – Field trip May 18 – Instructional class
At the end of this course, you will:
Know how to select binoculars and field guides
Better understand bird habitats and behavior
Gain skills and techniques for identifying birds
Know places to birdwatch in League City and the surrounding area
Class space is limited and costs $75 for residents and $105 for non-residents.
