Group Volunteering

Do You Have a Group You’d Like to Get Involved for a One-Day Service Project? 

We would love to have you! Group volunteering events include a tour and information on the shelter along with your service project. These projects do not include hands-on contact with the animals in our care, but they are important aspects of helping animals in need, allowing staff and long-term volunteers to focus on important daily animal care.

Volunteers who help us with animal care go through extensive training and make a weekly commitment to a volunteer position. To become an animal care volunteer, please view our volunteer opportunities.

Groups can support our work and the animals in our care by coordinating and participating in offsite group service projects (like making toys, collecting and donating items from our “wish list,” or holding a fundraiser). Projects that involve landscaping, organizing, and maintenance are great examples of what group volunteers can accomplish. Group volunteers may also be welcome at some of our larger public events assisting with traffic flow, set-up & break-down, greeting & welcoming guests, or grounds clean-up!

For more information or to discuss opportunities for your group to get involved at LCAC, please complete our Group Interest Form at least 2 weeks in advance. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all groups, service projects, or dates.

Please note that due to COVID-19, group volunteering opportunities may be adjusted or we may be unable to accommodate larger groups.
