The mission of the Local History Collection at the Helen Hall Library is to collect, preserve and disseminate information relating to the histories of League City, North Galveston County, and the surrounding Bay Area.
Helen Hall Library celebrates 50 years of service in 2022. In 1972 the library opened its doors to League City residents with a 7,000 square foot single story building and a collection of less than 3,000 books. Fast forward to today and League City Library circulates over 400,000 items a year, offers more than 530 programs to patrons of all ages, and maintains a resource database that served over a half-million people in 2021.
