Bayridge Park

Budget

$461,908

Scope of Work

This 1.8 acre neighborhood park will include the following improvements: a new playground, a 5-foot wide concrete perimeter, walking/jogging trail, a small picnic pavilion, baseball field improvements, basketball court resurfacing, and landscaping.

Subdivisions, Areas, or Streets Impacted

The park lies between Mariner Drive, Windward Drive, and Anchor Way Drive within the Bayridge Subdivision, accessed south on Bayridge Drive from Highway 96.

Project Status as of May 2022

Most of the existing facilities were aging and in need of replacement or improvements for several years. The Parks Board desired to pursue a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) grant for this park and that was attempted in October 2018, but the grant was not funded. Going forward, the park reconstruction will be fully funded with Park Dedication Fees. The Parks Board approved up to $400,000 for construction on March 4, 2021. City Council awarded a contract to Landscape Art, Inc., for $563,899 on April 26, 2022.
