Clear Creek Paddle Trail | Heritage Park Launch Area

The Clear Creek Paddle Trail ends at Heritage Park, in League City’s Historic District. This park features a kayak launch, along with a scenic fishing pond that is home to ducks, crabs, wading birds, and the occasional small alligator. Heritage Park is perfect for a picnic, kite flying, bird watching, family portraits, and enjoying some peaceful time in nature.

South Shore Harbour Marina

South Shore Harbour Marina is one of League City’s shining jewels. With floating docks that host 855 boat slips, the marina is a must-see stop for visitors to League City and Bay Area Houston. Stroll the docks, watch as boats come and go, and grab a drink at the Lighthouse Bar & Bistro for spectacular sunset views.

A wetland habitat, this park spans 148 acres of undeveloped land. Bird blinds are strategically placed throughout the park to provide opportunities to watch local and migrating birds. You’ll likely spot pelicans, egrets, herons, and other birds who make this area their home. Picnic tables and restrooms are also on site.

Clear Creek Paddle Trail | Countryside Park Launch Area

Grab your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard (or rent one) and head over to the Clear Creek Paddle Trail. This trail meanders 5.5 miles through Clear Creek, starting at Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside and ending at Heritage Park.

Paddlers will enjoy scenic views along their journey and may spot some of the wildlife that live in and around the creek, including wading birds, alligators, and deer. The City of League City hosts an annual Paddle Race along the trail for paddlers of all skill levels. There are multiple parks along the trail where you can stop for a picnic to recharge before getting back on the creek.

Be sure to bring plenty of water, sunblock, and a waterproof phone case so you can capture memories on your smart phone.
