The current cut-off time for next business day inspection is 3pm. 

-Contact information for the resident/company representative must be included in the inspection comments in order for it to be scheduled.

-Any request received after 3pm will be inspected on the 2nd business day. Inspections are scheduled in the order they are received.

-All required inspection documentation must be on file prior to scheduling inspections.

-The Building Department office is only open until noon on Fridays; inspections are only done until 11am on Fridays.

-TCI and GTO inspections on New Single Family Residential permits that are requested for Fridays will typically be scheduled for the following Monday. 

-On Electrical Reconnect inspections that are scheduled, you must call our office 30 minutes ahead of work being completed to ensure an inspector arrives as soon as possible for release to utility company. 

-We try to schedule all inspections as they are requested, however, there are times when there are more inspections than time allows. When this happens, inspections are scheduled for the next business day.

Note for all inspections:

1. Proper address should be clearly visible from the street.

2. City approved plans must be on site.

3. Ensure general cleanliness of job site. Debris containment should be provided on site. Ensure that the street is clear of all debris.

4. There should be a construction barrier on job sites bordering any occupied residence.

5. Provide concrete washout area when applicable—must maintain SWPPP on site at all times.

6. A safe pathway leading from the street to the jobsite must be installed and maintained. If any inspection cannot be safely conducted the inspection will be failed.

7. Ensure proper extension cords are in use.

8. Water used for construction from hose bibs or fire hydrants shall have an approved backflow prevention device.

9. Inspector should leave correction or approval notice at all inspections; results will also be available under the inspection on your permit portal under the “Checklist” tab.

Reinspection Fees

Any applicable reinspection fees will need to be paid before requesting additional inspections. It is the contractor’s responsibility to reschedule any failed inspections. 

Our re-inspection fees are as follows:

1st Violation re-inspection $100.00

2nd Violation for same failure $300.00

3rd Violation for same failure $500.00
