Building Department
Mission Statement
To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all people who live, work, or visit the City by ensuring compliance with adopted building codes and City ordinances.
All Building Permit Fees will be due before permit issuance. No work may commence until fees are paid in full and your permit is issued.
Building Department Meet & Greets with local contractors and developers are held on a quarterly basis at the City Civic Center. Please contact our office to be notified of the next Meet & Greet date.
Online Permit Portal
Please register for an account on our online permit portal to submit permit applications, track the status of permits, request inspections, and pay permit fees.
Follow these steps to get set up with an online account:
Please click below to register; you will need to check your email and confirm in order to continue the account registration process and be able to login to your account.
New Contractor Registration Process
After you have created an online account via the link above, please email the Contractor Registration From (PDF) and supporting documents to Building Department. Your registration should be processed within one business day; any applicable registration fees will be added to your portal for payment upon processing. You will find this invoice under “View” and “My Invoices” when you’re logged into your account.
Applying for permits:
You must upload one consolidated PDF in the attachments when applying for a new permit. This should include a permit application and any plans or relevant permit documents.
*As of June 1, 2022, a scope of work/contract (including the dollar amount) signed by the property owner must be submitted with all permit applications.
We will review your permit package, and you will receive an email when the permit is ready for payment via your online account. You will also receive a notice of any comments that need to be addressed after plan review via email.
We will verify your registration is current and issue your permit (upon review approval and payment); you will then be able to print your permit/approved plans and schedule your inspections.
*You must include contact information and the specifics of the inspection requested in the comments box of the inspection request.
Please contact our office with any issues you encounter or questions you may have.
