The History Club 
 
The History Club meets on the second Monday of each month to discuss local history, Texas history, or American history topics that cover a wide range of interests. Attendance can be in person or via Zoom. Please contact Caris Brown at caris.brown@leaguecitytx.gov.

February 12: Love Songs: A History
Learn the ancient history of love songs as well as the romantic true tales behind some of the greatest popular hits!
March 11: What’s Up With The Battleship Texas?
A speaker from The Battleship Texas Foundation will share highlights from the recent special exhibit at the Galveston Railroad Museum and relate the latest news on the repair and housing of this special ship.
April 9: The Karankawa: Debunking the Myths and Mysteries
Due to intense community interest, we are happy to have a reprise of this presentation. Direct Descendants of the Karankawa tribe join Local Historian Joyce Zongrone for an authentic look into the life and times of the Indigenous people of southern Texas and tell the true story of their ancestors.
May 13: The Buffalo Soldiers
A speaker from The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum will tell the story of the museum’s creation and introduce the history of the Buffalo Soldiers.
