On Saturday February 2, City Manager John Baumgartner and all City Directors gathered with Council and Mayor Pat Hallisey for a Strategic Planning Retreat to take an introspective and collaborative look at the City's Strategic
Plan. The plan, which was developed in the spring of 2018, consists of a vision statement for the City’s future, eight critical factors necessary for success, and eleven strategic initiatives that were developed to guide the work of City staff.
“This retreat is a time for Council and staff to gather and make sure we are all on the same page and working on the priorities that they have for the community,” said City Manager John Baumgartner. “The Strategic Plan also sets the foundation for the budget and will guide us as we prepare the budget to make sure we are meeting the expectations of the Council.”
During the session, City staff delivered a progress report on the actions taken over the last six to eight months to follow through and deliver on the Strategic Plan’s projects and initiatives. In addition, Council members and the Mayor collaborated to develop and prioritize several additional initiatives and projects to add to the plan in 2019.
“Overall, I was really impressed with today’s work and the work staff has done and is doing to follow through on the plan’s large number of initiatives and projects,” said Mayor Pat Hallisey. “I am also impressed with the work we as a Council are doing to collaborate and discuss what needs be done to ensure the future success of our City.”
