On Wednesday, December 11, close to 400 League City employees gathered at South Shore Harbour Resort for the City’s annual holiday luncheon and awards ceremony. Several staff members and departments received special recognition by City Manager John Baumgartner for their efforts over the past year.
The League City Park Operations Department received the City’s SERVICE Award for their embodiment of the SERVICE spirit and investment in the organizational values including sustainability, excellence, respect, value-driven, integrity, customer-focused, and engagement. Public Works Director Jody Hooks received the MAKING A DIFFERENCE award for his leadership and desire to continue to develop employees within the organization, as well as his high commitment to customer service and action in response to residents and to other departments within the City.
EMS Supervisor Greg Kunkel received the LEADERSHIP Award for exemplifying the City’s SERVICE values and for successfully contributing to positive engagement in the organization. For a video of all nominees, click here.
The League City Communications Department was awarded the IMPACT award for the innovation the team has displayed over the past year and for their ability to think outside the box, being especially creative and resourceful, resulting in an impact that is felt across the City.
