[ARCHIVED] Galveston County COVID-19 Positive Case Count at 676

galveston county healht district

On Friday, May 8, the Galveston County Health District reported four new positive COVID-19 cases in Galveston County residents. This brings the county’s case total to 676.

Please note there is a backlog of pending test results to be reported to the health district. This is more than likely the reason for today’s low new case count.

There are 3 additional recoveries, bringing that total to 397.

On additional death is being reported:

  • A female, age range 91-plus, passed away May 8. She had pre-existing medical conditions.

Of the county’s 676 cases, 254 are tied to long-term care facilities. This count includes residents and employees.
