On April 14, the League City Council voted to create a turnaround taskforce that will develop a plan to address League City’s economic recovery from the impacts of COVID 19. The plan will supplement the state’s phased approach to re-opening businesses.

“The idea is to help as many people in the community as possible,” said Scott Livingston, League City’s Economic Development Director and a member of the taskforce. “So, we’re talking about citizens, we’re talking about business, we’re talking about anybody and everybody who’s a stakeholder in the community.”

Members of the task force include city staff members, council members, and representatives from local businesses, hospitals, churches and the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Turnaround task force members include:

  • James Brockway, Realtor, chamber board chairman
  • Dewan Clayborn, CEO, League City Regional Chamber of Commerce
  • Paul Clines, Pastor, Bay Harbour United Methodist Church
  • Ed Hartman, Membership Director, Rotary Club
  • David Johnson, retired chemical engineer
  • Kevin Kiersh, Owner, Red River BBQ and Red River Cantina
  • Scott Livingston, Director, League City Economic Development
  • Bill Provenzano, Senior Vice President, Hometown Bank
  • Ashlea Quinonez, Community Relations Director, Memorial Hermann Health System
