Staff at the Helen Hall Library have created a unique mix of virtual, online, and in-person holiday activities for all ages starting Monday, December 7. The week-long event is called “All Booked Up for the Holidays” and it’s sure to get you and your family in the holiday spirit.

Merry Monday (December 7): The “All Booked Up for the Holidays Week” begins with Merry Monday. Bring your letter to Santa to the library and mail it in our special mailbox. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope to get a return letter from Santa, Mrs. Claus, or one of the elves. Bring a copy of your favorite holiday poem or phrase to share on the library’s holiday wall and pick up a free holiday bookmark. Visit the Helen Hall Library’s Facebook page and website to get tips on writing thank you notes and download a free template.

Tradition Tuesday (December 8): Stop by the library to pick up some of the staff's favorite recipes including the library's famous wassail. Bring in your favorite recipe to share and hang it on the holiday recipe board. Library staff members will be sharing their favorite holiday recipes on the Helen Hall Library Facebook page and website.

Teens, ages 12-18, can pick up a peppermint pillow craft at the upstairs reference desk and make them in the teen room or take them home. Adults can pick up a wine cork reindeer craft at the adult reference desk. How-to tutorial videos will be posted on the library’s Facebook page.

Parents can pick up a flyer at the Children's Desk and help their kids hunt for pictures of reindeer throughout the children’s area. Adults will have trivia scattered throughout the library all day and teens can take part in the Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt.

Festive Friday (December 11): Santa will be stopping by the Helen Hall Library for a live video filming with volunteer coordinator London Lawrence. In addition to sharing his favorite holiday memories, Santa will take part in story time in the children’s area, which also will be broadcast live on the library’s Facebook page.
