On Friday, January 29, League City Mayor Pat Hallisey and City Manager John Baumgartner celebrated the City’s successes in 2020 at the annual State of the City breakfast hosted by the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce. Residents, local businesses, and leaders from throughout the Houston-Galveston area who attended the event watched a video highlighting the City’s milestones over the past year (see below).

Also during the event, Hallisey and Baumgartner answered questions about League City’s upcoming projects and priorities for 2021. See below for a video recording of the Q and A session conducted by Ashlea Quinonez, the Director of Local and Community Relations for Memorial Hermann.

Despite the challenges of COVID, League City has a lot to be proud of in 2020. See the graphic below. 

Residents can also learn more by picking up a a FREE 2021 calendar/annual report at City Hall. Supplies are limited to a first-come, first-served basis. 

Measuring Success in 2020Other accomplishments in 2020 include:

• Completion of first mobility project included in 2019 Bond Program

• Ervin Street connector between Hobbs and Calder Road

• Rehabilitation of existing streets and sidewalks

• Drainage improvements in the Historic District

• Infrastructure and supply improvements to the City’s water system

• Improvements and upgrades to the City’s sewer system

• Revitalization of League Park and Park Avenue

• Nearly 10,000 feet of new hike and bike trails

• Opening of Fire Station No. 6

• New Animal Care and Adoption Center

• New fire boat, high water rescue vehicle, and a fresh look for police vehicles

• New Public Works operations facility
