Did you know May 16-22 is National Public Works Week? This week, we acknowledge the critical role that public works employees serve in communities across the nation. League City Public Works provides an orchestra of infrastructure services in transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater, public buildings and spaces, parks and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste, and right-of-way management. 

This year, the American Public Works Association (APWA) will recognize public works employees and promote the theme, “stronger together.” The theme points to the dedicated efforts of public works professionals who are responsible for planning, designing, building, improving, and protecting our City’s transportation, stormwater, solid waste systems, fleet, and public buildings/structures essential to our citizens.
 

Public Works personnel  have been nationally acknowledged as first responders. In an effort raise awareness, the Public Works First Responder logo is proudly displayed on all of League City's Public Works' vehicles, uniforms, and buildings. help us thank our Public Works staff this week for their hard work and dedication.
