League City residents are invited to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony and events on Monday, May 31 to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Ceremony- 10 a.m.
The ceremony, which will feature remarks by League City Mayor Pat Hallisey, local veterans and a presentation by an Honor Guard will be held at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. Parking will be available at the Fire Station Drill Field at 718 N. Kansas Avenue.
League City Historical Society- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Following the ceremony, residents are invited to visit the grounds at 210 N. Kansas Avenue for an outdoor learning experience that tells the story of the past 100 years of war and conflict. Living history re-enactors will explain the significance of League City's Gold Star families and the meaning and symbolism of the poppy. Water and lemonade will be served.
Limited on-site parking is available with additional parking at Butler's Courtyard.
American Legion Lunch- Noon to 2 p.m.
Stop by American Legion Post 554 for a complimentary hot dog lunch and soft drinks at 1650 Highway 3.
