As part of League City’s new public art gallery, located in the lobby of the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, professional and amateur artists from League City and the Bay Area are encouraged to submit pieces to have on display for an entire month. Each month will have a different theme or focus. Submitted artwork can be for sale or display only.
The City’s Public Art and Community Engagement Coordinator is currently collecting artwork that showcases birds and birdwatching in recognition of fall migration and World Migratory Bird Day on October 9. Paintings, photographs, sculptures, and mixed media pieces are welcome.
Artists who would like to display their work at the gallery in October should contact Rosa Salcido by September 27 at 281-554-1265 or email her at email@example.com. The theme for November is photography.
The free gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.
