Do Your Part to Help Beautify League City

fall sweep

As an official Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate, League City and citizen members of the Keep League City Beautiful committee, are encouraging residents, businesses, scouting groups, civic clubs, local organizations, and HOAs in our City to take part in the Fall Sweep— KTB's annual fall cleanup program open to all Texans who want to clean up their community. It's easy to get involved and help beautify League City. Here's how:

  1. Organize your own cleanup: Identify an area in League City that could be cleaned, or enhanced with plants and trees, and that is safe and accessible, such as a park, hike and bike trail, watershed area, or roadway. (City parks require permission from the Parks and Recreation Department. If you have a specific park or project you would like to discuss for the Fall Sweep, email Once you have picked a location, register your cleanup event to receive free supplies at (It takes about three weeks to receive supplies.) When asked "Name of KTB Affiliate" select Keep League City Beautiful from the drop down menu. Also email to let League City know about your event so we can supply City swag and support from staff members.
  2. Take part in the Citywide Fall Sweep: Join us on Saturday, November 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Ghirardi Watersmart Park for a cleanup event. Individuals, groups, organizations, and clubs can sign up to participate. Register at this link so we can have enough supplies for everyone. Volunteers will be painting a gate, water sealing the fencing around the park, and putting in new decomposed granite walkways. In addition, a special area is being created to install a “Community Kindness Rock Garden” which will be made up of painted rocks.  Residents and visitors to the City can come to the garden to see inspiring words and images, take a rock for inspiration, or leave one to help the garden grow.
