Volunteers will be sealing the fencing around the park, putting in new decomposed granite walkways, and helping to create a painted rock garden. A painted rock, sometimes called a kindness stone or rock, is simply a rock that someone has taken and decorated with an inspirational message or image. Many cities and communities have a “Kindness Rock Garden” where residents and visitors can come to take a rock for inspiration or leave one to help the garden grow. The goal of the garden is to sprinkle positivity around a community. Groups or individuals wanting to contribute painted rocks to the garden can deliver them from 8 a.m. to noon on November 20 at the park.
