[ARCHIVED] Applications Open For Citizen University

Twenty-two League City residents were recently honored by the League City Council for the their participation in Citizen University, a free program designed to familiarize citizens with the purpose, process, and structure of the city’s government and equip them to become active participants in municipal operations. 

Citizen University is held two times a year, over an 11-week period, every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Each session includes an interactive presentation from staff on various city services and issues and how citizens play a crucial role in leading League City into the future. Since its creation in 2015, the Communications Department has organized nine Citizen University sessions 

Registration is currently underway for the next session which begins January 27 and runs until April 7. Registration is open on a first-come, first-served basis for any League City resident or business owners who is 18 years of age or older and does not currently holding a position as an elected official or running for office. A background check will be required for admission to the program since the course will include a tour of the Public Safety Building. Class size is limited to approximately 20.
