Every December, League City employees from every department gather for a holiday luncheon to enjoy a sit down meal together, social time with their colleagues, and some holiday cheer and merriment. During the luncheon, City Manager John Baumgartner presents the annual League City Employee Awards—including the Impact Award, Service Award, and the Leadership Award. All three award winners are selected by a staff committee which reviews nominations made by City directors, managers, and individual department employees. Every League City staff member is eligible to submit a nomination for a colleague from their own department or another department.
