[ARCHIVED] City Implementing Stage 1 of Drought Contingency Plan due to Water Line Leak

VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION

Due to a leak that was discovered by the City’s Public Works Department at the City’s main 42 inch water line, League City is implementing Stage 1 of the City's Drought Contingency Plan and is asking customers to voluntarily limit their discretionary use of water which includes sprinklers, landscape watering, and outside car washing. See below for more information.

UPDATE 2/8/22 at 4 p.m. On Tuesday, February 8, contractors and League City Public Works Crews located and isolated the leak. They are currently accessing all repair methods and options. Because of the size of the line and the equipment needed, it will take a few days to fix. Until then, residents are being asked to voluntary conserve water by not using their automated sprinkler systems and refrain from outdoor watering or car washing. The leak is located on the main water supply line between the City's Highway 3 pump station and Walter Hall Park. The line supplies approximately 70 percent of League City’s surface water supply.
