[ARCHIVED] New Police Tribute Wall at League City Police Department

monument

The League City Police Department recently installed a new police tribute wall in front of the Public Safety Building.

The monument is a tribute to former and present law enforcement personnel, and features St. Michael protecting two officers, a bible verse on the left side, the League City PD Patch on the right side, a thin blue line, and a quote  from the movie, "End of Watch":

"Behind my badge is a heart like yours. I bleed, I think, I love, and yes, I can be killed. And although I am but one man, I have thousands of brothers and sisters who are the same as me. They will lay down their lives for me, and I them. We stand watch together, a thin blue line, protecting the prey from the predators, the good from the bad. We are the police."

This monument has been in the works for years, and was paid for from donations from the League City Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, as well as other donors. Individuals, businesses and nonprofits have donated to add their names on bricks that are on the monument. More will be added in the future.

The department looks forward to using the monument as a backdrop for future ceremonies held at the Public Safety Building.
