On Sunday, November 27, the City of Houston's East Water Purification Plant experienced a power outage that necessitated a boil water notice for communities that receive their water supply from that plant. League City officials have spoken with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and have received confirmation that NO boil water notice is required for League City. This is because the water treatment facility serving League City—the Southeast Water Purification Plant in Houston—was NOT impacted by the power outage. The Southeast Water Purification Plant did not experience system pressure below regulatory standards and League City’s distribution system did not experience any pressure drop.
