Home fire pit mishaps can cause serios injuries. With a few safety tips you can help keep your family safe.

  • Keep children and pets at least three fet away from the fire
  • Keep a fire extinguisher, garden hose, or bucket near by
  • Avoid using soft wood like pine or cedar because they can pop and thow sparks
  • Don't use flammable fluids like gasoline, lighter fluid, etc. to light or relight fires
  • Never operate your fire pit beneath a bulding overhang or in a partially enclosed space

Per League CIty Code of Ordinance Chapter 46 Fire Protection and Prevention, recreational or ceremonial fire pits cannot be over 1,300 square inches in size with a maximum flame height of not more than three feet above the fire pit surface.
