LCPD Teen Academy

LCPD Teen Academy

High school students are invited to join the men and women of the League City Police Department to explore a career in law enforcement. Students will experience a “behind the badge” view of core police functions and what it takes to become a police officer. The Teen Academy consists of classes and hands-on activities designed to give the cadets a working knowledge of our police department.

The Teen Academy is open to high school students who reside or attend a League City public or private school. This includes students of all public, private, and homeschool students in League City. This program is not designed to treat or deal with any disciplinary problems. Students must not have any excessive disciplinary issues in school or with the police. The academy is free of charge and space is limited. The event will be held Tuesday, July 25th to Friday, July 28th from 8 AM to 4 PM

Cadets will learn about:

  • Patrol Procedures
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Criminal Law
  • Firearms Safety
  • Traffic Stops
  • Positive Team Building Activities and More

Applications can be obtained by contacting Officers Young or Montero.

The application deadline is Friday, July 7th, 2023.
