Animal Shelter’s TNR Program On Hold
In response to citizen feedback and input from the Animal Advisory Committee, the League City Animal Shelter’s Trap-Neuter-Return Program (TNR), also known as the Community Cat program, is being placed on hold until a full assessment of the program can be made by an outside agency and further feedback is gathered from the community.
American Pets Alive (AmPA!) has agreed to complete a full assessment of our Community Cat Program, ordinances, and TNR policies. The evaluation will incorporate the ideas and concerns of City staff, the League City Animal Advisory Board, and the public.
Upon completion of the assessment, the results will be presented to the Animal Advisory Committee, followed by a Council Workshop to summarize the outcome and suggestions as to how to move forward. We are confident that we can find ways to improve our TNR practices through this assessment and are excited to move League City forward as a leader within the industry.
