Upcoming Events

Last Weekend for Open Swim

Our Summer pool season is coming to a close, join us this weekend for our last open swim of the season. Thanks to an anonymous donor, admissions to Walker Pool and Hometown Heroes Park pool will be FREE this Labor Day weekend for League City residents ages 16 and under. Hometown Heroes Pool will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. and Walker Pool will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. Both pools will be open Saturday - Monday.


Building Closure- September 4

Hometown Heroes Building and the Community Center will be closed Monday, September 4 in observation of Labor Day. Walker Pool and Hometown Heroes Pool will remain open.

Astronomy in the Park

Astronomy in the Park is back starting September 2 at Rustic Oaks Park from 7 to 9:30 p.m. We encourage those attending to bring binoculars if you have them. Astronomy in the Park will run through September 2023 through June 2024 on the first Saturday of each month. This program is run by Daniel Roy.

Upcoming Programs

Registration for our programs can be done in person or by visiting our online registration site.  The brochure can be viewed online or picked up at Hometown Heroes Park or the Community Center.

NEW PROGRAM- Homeschool Coding Class

Unleash your child's imagination. Create, play and learn at their own pace as they gain skills in coding and problem solving. Learn to code and have a blast while building awesome video games. Get support and encouragement from our instructors. The first session will run Tuesdays, September 5 -26. Class time for kids ages 6-7 is 12 to 1 p.m. and ages 8-14 is 1 to 2 p.m. The session fee is $125. Register today!

Irish Dance Class

Interesting in learning how to Irish Dance? Join us for our next session on Tuesdays, September 5 - 26! Come learn the basics of Irish dance in a fun, family-friendly environment. Class time for kids ages 7 - 15 is 6 to 7 p.m. and ages 16 & older is 7 to 8 p.m. The session fee is $80. Register today!

Safe Sitter

Designed to prepare students to be safe when they're home along, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. The next class will be held on September 9 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This class is open to ages 10 to 14. The session fee is $75.

Art Classes

This fall we are offering a variety of art classes at the Community Center. We have classes for ages 3 and older. Classes start next week, so register today to secure your spot! For more information about these classes, including pricing, class dates, etc view the Art Classes post.
