Canning 101 with AgriLife Extension

Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; for adults
An abundance of home-grown fruits and vegetables often triggers the desire to can foods at home.  While this can be a fun and rewarding way to keep foods long after the season ends, care must be taken to assure that foods canned at home are safe to eat.  Join Ginger Benson, Galveston County Extension Agent for Family & Community Health, as she shares the how-tos of home canning, including the science, safety, equipment, and steps used to can food.

Monday, September 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.; for adults
Learn how to create an individualized vision board using the Canva application!

Tween Book Talks

Tuesday, September 26 from 4 to 5 p.m.; for ages 8 to 11
Grab a snack, hang out, and be introduced to your next read. We will explore a variety of genres in prose and graphic novel. Tweens can give a book review of one of their latest reads. Please contact Kate Guynn for accommodations.

Clash of the Cards

Wednesday, September 27 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; for ages 12 to 18
Explore new ways to sharpen your skills with strategy-based card games such as Happy Little Dinosaurs, Exploding Kittens, and Magic: The Gathering! All experience levels are welcome. This program is led by a Teen Advisory Board member. Note: Card games will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own teen-rated card games.

Sensory Friendly Storytime

Thursday, September 28 from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.; for ages 3 to 8 and their caregivers
This story time is adapted for neurodivergent children. Dimmed lights and a balance of activities for both sensory seekers and avoiders.
