Members of the public are invited to come to Big League Dreams League City, located at 1150 Big League Dreams Pkwy, on Saturday, September 23 for “Pro Day” with Houston Astro Gary Pettis. The third base coach of the defending World Series Champions will be visiting the facility from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. for a tour, a Q and A session inside the sports facility’s covered pavilion, and to throw out the first pitch with League City Mayor Long at the Perfect Game “September Smash Tournament” on the UTMB field.
This event is open to everyone. Seating inside the pavilion is on a first-come, first-served basis. Gate admission is $8 for ages 13 and older. Gates open at 7 a.m.
Pettis is an 11-year Major League veteran and five-time Golden Glove Award winner while playing for teams including the LA Angels and Texas Rangers.
Big League Dreams League City opened in 2005 and can accommodate indoor soccer, slow-pitch softball, youth baseball, and youth fast-pitch. Amenities include stadium seating, stadium club restaurants, batting cages, a kid's play area, a 20,000 sq. ft. indoor pavilion, and replicas of Major League Baseball fields including Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field, Ebbets Field, Crosley Field, and Sportsman’s Park.
