Anthony Hera began his career with the League City Police Department in 1993 and currently holds the rank of Assistant Chief. He served in the United States Army from 1988 until 1992. Assistant Chief Hera’s experience includes Field Training Officer, SWAT Tactical Team Member, SWAT Sniper, Marine Safety Officer, Criminal Investigator, and Narcotics Investigator. He holds a TCOLE Instructor and Firearms Instructor license, and is certified as a Patrol Rifle Instructor, Advanced Police Sniper, Advanced SWAT, and Marine Safety Enforcement Officer. He graduated from the ILEA School of Police Supervision. Assistant Chief Hera was recognized in 2001 by the Galveston County Chamber of Commerce for Officer of the Year.
